Jack Odell Epley

Jack Odell Epley, 62, of Mt. Olive Church Road in Morganton died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born on July 14, 1947 in Burke County, NC, he was the son of the late Roy Epley and Elsie Beaver Epley.Jack is survived by his wife, Wilma Hudson Epley of the home; sons, Roy Junior Hudson and wife, Shana, and Ronnie Epley and wife, Jessica, all of Morganton; daughters, Betty Hitchcock and husband, Don, and Jackie Whisnant and husband, Chris, all of Morganton; brothers, Wayne Bivens and Jim Epley, both of Morganton and Raymond Epley of Casar, NC; a sister, Margie Hudson of Casar; grandchildren, Donald, Brittany, and Nicholas Hitchcock, Cody Epley, Cassie, Courtney, and Chelsey Whisnant, Megan and Gavin Epley, and Gracie Hudson; and great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Thames and Chassity Hitchcock.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2009 at McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church with Preacher Chad Carswell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
