Jacklyn “Jackie” Lunsford Gilbert

Jacklyn “Jackie” Lunsford Gilbert, 66, of Morganton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Born in Indiana on February 14, 1951, she was the daughter of the late James Shell and Irene Shell. Jackie was a member of Chesterfield First Church of Christ. She was a homemaker who also took care of the elderly over the years.
Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her husband, Bill Gilbert of the home; children, Tracey Corwin and husband, Greg, of Flowery Branch, GA, Johnny Lunsford and wife, Lisa, of Valdese, and Chris Lunsford and fiancée, Christina Bowkley, of Hickory; 7 grandchildren; and a brother, Jim Shell of Florida.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Lunsford.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will follow at 2pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Freddy Lindsey and Pastor Dennis Laws officiating.
