Jacob "Bill" Shuping

Jacob “Bill” Shuping, 94, of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was born July 21, 1923 in Burke County, NC and was the son of the late Jacob Rodney Shuping and Nettie Mull Shuping. Bill was a charter member at Cross Memorial Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and his church. Bill was an avid gardener and Atlanta Braves fan. Bill was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandsons, Todd Newland Shuping and Howard Matthew Beck; and a brother, Conley “Buck” Shuping.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ethel “Beese” Brittain Shuping; children, Gary Shuping and wife, Patsy, Ronnie Shuping and wife, Rhonda all of Morganton, Janice Beck and husband, Roger of Lenoir, and Allen Shuping and wife, Mary of Raleigh; grandchildren, Leslie Mull, Kelly Shehan, Kristi Shuping, Bryan Beck, and Adam Beck; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 1, 2018 at Cross Memorial Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at the church at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Jeff Beach and Dr. Jack Shoemaker officiating. The family will be having a private entombment.
