James Albert Tallent, Sr.

James Albert Tallent, Sr., 74, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, June 30, 2017. Born on April 26, 1943 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of the late Robert Connelly Tallent and Nellie Morris Tallent.
Albert was a member of Nowlings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He loved his family and enjoyed playing music on his guitar and traveling, especially to the mountains.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by eight other siblings.
Albert is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Virgie Tallent and children, Sarah Heavner and husband, Ronnie, James Tallent, Jr. and wife, Sandy, Tracey Tallent and wife, Katrina, and Phillip Tallent and wife, Holly. He is also survived by grandchildren, Michael and Greg Heavner, Christian Tallent and wife, Elizabeth, Destiny Tallent, Trevor Tallent, Breann Tallent, Malarie Tallent, Brasen Tallent, Tucker Tallent, Dalton Tallent, and Bailey Tallent; great-grandson, Jake Tallent; brother, Dickey Joe Tallent; and faithful friend, Gayle Comak.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2017 in the Roy Shehan Life Enrichment Center. The graveside service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at Nowlings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Randy Cook officiating.
