James Alfred Nutt, 58 of Morganton, NC was called home to be with his Lord on Friday, September 23, 2016. James was born in Lauderdale, MS on May 16, 1958 to the late James Elhanon Nutt and Julia Watson Nutt.
Mr. Nutt proudly served his country and was a sergeant in the United States Army. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. James loved to be outdoors and spend time on his boat at Lake James.
Mr. Nutt is survived by his wife, Robin S. Nutt; son, Brandon J. Culpepper and wife, Marie of Smiths Station, AL; daughter, Farrah E. Baker and husband, Ben of Seale, AL; and youngest daughter, Brittany R. Nutt. He is also survived by grandsons, Jeremiah B. Baker and Sebastian S. Culpepper; granddaughter, Elise S. Culpepper; sister, Judi L. Nutt of Meridian, MS; brother, Johnny E. Nutt and wife, Brenda of Quitman, MS; and his canine, “Little Buddy”, Chestnutt.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a son, James E. Nutt and a granddaughter, Kailey E. Somerset.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Burkemont Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Military honors will be provided by NC National Guard and Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
