James Dewey Dishman

James Dewey Dishman, Sr., 74, of Hudson, NC, died Thursday, March 12, 2015.  Born in Catawba County, NC on April 3, 1940, he was the son of the late Jim Dewey Keller and Leonna Stamey Stamey.  James was of the Baptist faith.  He loved to fish and was proud of his 28 years of work at Shufford Allred Mill.

James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Martha Emma Poarch Dishman of the home; children, Martha Katherine Burch of Claremont, NC, James Dewey Dishman, Jr. of Morganton; Timothy Bryan Dishman of the home, and Kenneth Lee Dishman of the home; grandchildren, Patricia Dishman Bowers, Henry James Barker, Jonathan Lee Edkard, Dustin Fillers, Christopher James Dishman, Brandon Dishman, Savannah Marie Dishman, and Kenneth Lee Dishman, Jr.; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Stephen “Pete” Keller, Clarence “Mick” Kaziah; Monroe “Buck” Keller, and George Kaziah; and two sisters, Irene Alridge and Georgia Mae Rowe.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Keller and James Russell Keller; and three sisters, Edna Craig, Hazel Keller, and Shirley Dula.

The graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lenoir, NC with the Rev. Ed Warren officiating.
