James E. Morrow

James E. Morrow, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on April 9, 1934, he was the son of the late William Cletus Morrow and Cora Lee Mabe Morrow.  James was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and retired from Henredon Furniture after 48 years.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly.  He enjoyed watching western movies, playing cards, and fishing, but he especially loved going to the beach with his family.

James is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Hudson Morrow of the home; sons, John Adam (Donna) Morrow, Robert Morrow, and Jeff Morrow; grandchildren, Drew Morrow and Brittany Morrow Orillaza; sister, Merle Stine; and a number nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morrow as preceded in death by 4 sisters, Pauline Morrow, Myra Morrow Fox, Edith Morrow Head, and Bootsie Morrow; and 2 brothers, Earl and Bill Morrow.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Billy Mace officiating.  Burial will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
