James Gregory McMahan

James Gregory McMahan, Greg to his friends and family, 51, of Brown Mountain Beach Road, Morganton, NC died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia, NC. Born in Burke County, NC on June 10, 1958, he was the son of James Conrad McMahan and the late Sylvia Marlene Perry Swink. Greg loved to attend local area Pentecostal churches. He worked at Southern Devices for over 21 years. Greg was an avid outdoorsman and loved to cook and watch the Food Network channel.He is survived by his wife, Madalyn Rarick McMahan of the home; children, Natosha McMahan of Greensboro, NC, William McMahan of Morganton, and G’Lellier McMahan of Morganton; a grandchild, Maddie Grady; and a brother, Clarence Stanley McMahan and wife, Melody, of Holmesville, OH.A private memorial service will be held at Fairview United Methodist at a later date. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church.
