James "Harry" Ross

James "Harry" Ross, 94, of Morganton NC died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Grace Heights Health Care Center. Born in Burke County, NC on November 25, 1915, he was the son of the late J. M. Ross and Alice James Ross. Harry was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a US Army veteran of the pacific theater of WWII. He worked in the Charlotte area as a construction worker.Harry is survived by his nephew, John W. Beach and wife, Elizabeth Lowe Beach, of Morganton, and a great-niece, Aggie Elizabeth Beach of Morganton.The family would like to give a special thanks to Uncle Harry’s extended family at Grace Heights Health Care Center.In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his sisters, Abigail Ross and Ruth Ross Beach, and brothers, Lee McCall Ross and William J. Ross.A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Todd McCullough officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Heights Health Care Center, 109 Foothills Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.
