James Holder Kral

James Holder Kral, 81, of Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 3, 2021.  Born in Burke County, NC on December 18, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph Michael Kral and Mary Virginia Ledbetter Kral.  James was a member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.  He enjoyed traveling, playing softball, and bowling.

A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, James is survived by his wife, Alice Benfield Kral; son, Russell Stuart Kral; step-daughter, Robin Fowler; grandson, Travis Clontz; great-grandchildren, Nicole and Josey Clontz; brothers, Michael and Rodney Kral; sisters, Peggy Webb and Joyce Benfield; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Renee Reid; and sister, Ilene Kral.

The graveside service will be held at Catawba Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ned Webb officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care or Catawba Valley Baptist Church Building Fund.
