James “Jimmy” Eric Rhyne, 62, of Morganton passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Born in Burke County, NC on August 18, 1959, he was the son of the late Edward Pittman Rhyne, Sr. and Patsy Fisher Compton. Jimmy was a veteran of the US Army. He wrote articles for “If You Grew Up in Morganton” and “50 Years Ago In Burke.”
Jimmy is survived by a son, David Rhyne; daughter, Katie Rhyne; and brothers, Bo and Mark Rhyne.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Rhyne, Jr.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
