James McNeely, 79, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Born in Cleveland County, NC on October 25, 1944, he was the son of the late Buford Clint McNeely and Audrey Gantt McNeely.
James was a good person who loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freight and enjoyed being on his boat at Lake James.
James is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Blankenship McNeely; children, Wayne Shoun, Sr. (Lisa) and Jack Shoun; grandchildren, Wayne Shoun, Jr. (Mariann), Jonathan Shoun (Amanda), and Heather Shoun; great-grandchildren, Keira and Revan Shoun; and his canine companions, Gabby Katlyn.
No services are planned at this time.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
