Jamie Barnhill Reichard

Jamie Barnhill Reichard, 59, of Newton passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 after a short illness.  Born in Gaston County, NC on September 18, 1959, she was the daughter of the late James Barnhill and Elizabeth Pace Barnhill.  Jamie worked for over 16 years with CommScope and had worked with Christian Tours.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tom Reichard of the home; daughter, Jennifer Moss (Chris) of Lenoir; grandchildren, Samantha Litt (Aaron) and Megan Lambert; brother, Jimmy Barnhill (Elizabeth) of Spruce Pine; sister, Susan Peterson (Dirk) of Morganton; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hildebrandt (Geno) of Austin, TX and Gail Reichard of Newton; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Daisy.

In addition to her parents, Jamie was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Merrill; and brother-in-law, Donald Reichard; in-laws, Finley A. Reichard and Jayne S. Reichard.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Geno Hildebrandt officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
