Jane Davis Ramsey

Jane Davis Ramsey, 78, of Connelly Springs died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Valdese Hospital. Born in Rutherford County, NC on September 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Marion Davis and Ila Hill Davis. Jane was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where she served on many church committees. She received her nursing degree from Shelby Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Fairbrook Medical Clinic for Dr. Wayne Boyles for over 40 years. Jane loved to travel, go to the beach, and hike in the mountains. She was a collector of cook books and an excellent cook.Jane is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Joseph Ramsey of the home; a son, David Ramsey and his wife, Leslie, of Connelly Springs; a daughter, Amy Dobert and her husband, Jody, of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Dr. Kelly Ramsey and his wife, Jolene, Mindy Ramsey, Alex Ramsey, and Ila Dobert; a sister, Marion Davis Butler and her husband, Max, of Shelby; a brother, Paul "Pete" Davis and his wife, Betty, of Morganton; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Davis of Shelby.In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Davis.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Barlow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
