Jane Matilda Sievert Purdy

Jane Matilda Sievert Purdy, 70, of Morganton, died Sunday, September 21, 2014. She was born in Sandstone, Minn. On January 3, 1944 and was a daughter of the late Walter and Sophia Prince Sievert. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, John Bodeker; a daughter, Sherry Purdy; grandchild, Vanessa Purdy; brothers, John, Don, and Al Sievert; and a sister, Esther Harth. She was a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Debi Purdy of Morganton; grandchildren, Cortney Marshall of Minnesota, Jessica Gohl of Connelly Springs, and Jeffery Purdy of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Trinity Strohmyer, Trever Purdy, and Cyndee and Charlie Marshall; and her siblings, Mary Ann William and Chuck Sievert both of Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Silver Creek Baptist Church with the Reverends, Doug Price, Freddie Williams, and Larry Thompson officiating. A potluck dinner will follow in the fellowship hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
