Janette Davis Lowman

Janette Davis Lowman, 71, of Miller Bridge Rd. in Connelly Springs, NC died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Valdese General Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born April 15, 1938 in Burke County, and was a daughter of the late Patrick Odell Davis and Mae Fannie Robinson Davis. Janette was a member of Warlick’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was retired from the textiles manufacturing industry, and was an accomplished cook and baker. Janette was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.She is survived by her husband, Bob Lowman of the home; a son, Randy Lowman and wife, Carolyn of Connelly Springs; daughters, Barbara Holman and husband, James of Hudson, Pan Parker of Connelly Springs, and Jan Chester and husband, Keith of Hudson; grandchildren, Cody Lowman, Justin Lowman, Curtis Holman and wife, Amanda, Jessica Holman, Jill Knox and husband, Adam, Josh Parker and wife, Roseanna, Doug Chester and wife, Alicia; great-grandchildren, James David Holman, Madelyn Knox, Sam Knox, Gwendolyn Chester, and Jocilyn Chester.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Colon Davis; sisters, Lola Mae Arney and Patricia Juanita Setzer; and a son-in-law, Randy Parker.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Warlick’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Fletcher and Rev. Dr. Clifton Black officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southmountain Children’s Home, 7330 Myrtle Dr., Nebo, NC 28761. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
