Janette “Janet” Barber Hull, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Amorem Hospice in Valdese, NC.

Born October, 22, 1944, Janet is survived by her husband, Donald of the home; a son, Scot (Amy) of Shelby, grandson, Zeb; a sister, Maryann Pitts of Myrtle Beach, SC; and brother, David Holland of Drexel; as well as her beloved cats, Smitty and Sam.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Alamanda Holland; and a brother, Dean Holland.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Amorem, UNC Health Blue Ridge, especially Dr. Brisson and Dr. Calhoun, and her church family and Pastor Shane Ramsey at High Peak Baptist Church in Drexel for the kindness and compassion she received during her illness.

Memorials may be made to High Peak Baptist Church, 3078 High Peak Road, Valdese, NC 28690, Amorem of Valdese, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690 or to the Humane Society of Burke County, 417 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
