Janice Greene

Janice Greene, 75, of Nebo, NC died Saturday, August 6, 2016.  Born in McDowell County, NC on March 8, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Tuarp Young and Vanetta Hensley Young.  Janice was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

Mrs. Greene is survived by three daughters, Helen Clark and her husband, Cliff, of Marion, NC, Mary Mace and her husband, Jim, of Marion, and Judy Meeker and her husband, Gerald, of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Cliff Clark, Jr. and his wife, Melinda, Samuel Clark and his wife, Krystal, Stephen Duncan and his wife, Brandi; Beth Sherlin and her husband, Dusty, Jeremy Brown and his wife, Kati, and Allen Meeker; ten great-grandchildren, two brothers, Floyd Tarp Young, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Sun City, AZ and Jim Young and his wife, Charlene, of Asheville, NC; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Greene.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Rocky Reese, Mr. Jim Mace, and Mr. Gerald Meeker officiating.  Burial will follow at Faith Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
