Janice L. Johnson

Janice L. Johnson, 68, of Morganton died Tuesday, August 20, 2013. She was born in McDowell County on June 27, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Lewis Burton Johnson and Edna Althea Hawkins Johnson. Janice worked at several of our local textile plants but took early retirement to take care of her mother. She was a member of Walker Road Baptist Church.Surviving are her brothers, Ralph S. Johnson and his wife, Carolyn of Claremont, NC, Wayne Edwin Johnson and his wife, Carolyn, and David L. Johnson and his wife, Dottie, both of Morganton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 at Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Rocky Branch officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
