Jayne Cook Wise

Jayne Cook Wise, 72, of Morganton, NC went to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, August 30, 2017. She was born April 16, 1945 in Burke County, NC and was the daughter of the late Stacy Cook and Vergie Moore Cook. Jayne was a wonderful Christian lady who loved the Lord, her church and family dearly. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. She graduated from Salem High School and retired from Broughton Hospital. Jayne had a love for Nascar racing and she loved cooking special things for her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Leon Wise.
She is survived by daughter, Robin Wise; grandsons, Thomas Wright and wife, Christie, Emmannuel Wright; brother, Jerry Cook and wife, Mary, sister, Connie Cook; nephews, Jeff Cook and wife, Pam, Chris Cook and wife Stephanie; grand nieces, Kayli Cook and Kasey Cook; grand nephews, Elias Cook and Isaiah Cook; as well as a number of extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Dr. Jack Hodges and Dr. Larry Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2396 Enola Rd., Morganton, NC 28655. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Robin Wise.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
