Jean C. Ollis

Jean C. Ollis, 78, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2019.  Born in Avery County, NC on March 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Crawford and Ruth Virginia Hodges Crawford.  Jean was a member of Mountain View #1 Baptist Church.  She was a devoted mother and nan who loved her family dearly.  She enjoyed reading but recently enjoyed travelling with The Ollis Family Ministry.

Jean is survived by her sons, Gregory James Ollis (Debra) of Carthage, NC and Eric Phillip Ollis (Laura) of Morganton; grandchildren, Jeanie Elizabeth Ollis, Nathan Gregory Ollis, Robert Payton Ollis, and Michael Enoch Ollis; brothers, Cecil Crawford (Pauline) of Banner Elk, NC, George Crawford (Linda) of Drexel, Steve Crawford (Marcella) of Morganton, and Bruce Wayne “Pete” Crawford (Debra) of Marion; sisters, Betty Crawford Fox (Hylon) and Helen Crawford Buchanan, all of Morganton; a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family; and special friend, Nancy Powell, and her children, Nathan Powell and Kay Clark.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, James Phillip Ollis; and a brother, Jimmy Ray Crawford.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
