Jean Cotton

Jean Cotton, 69, of Morganton, NC passed unexpectedly on Monday, October 8, 2012 at her residence. Born February 21, 1943 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Guy Carswell and Essie Watts Wilson. Jean was a member of Mount Home Baptist Church, and was a retired insurance agent with American General Life Insurance Company.She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Cotton of the home; daughters, Debbie Talbert and husband, Charles, of Southport, NC, and Angie Pariso and husband Craig, of Boone; grandchildren, Zack Talbert and Mikey Pariso; and a brother, Harrill "Hal" Carswell and wife, Patty, of Savannah, GA.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Mount Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Home Baptist Church Building Fund, 2272 Mount Home Church Rd., Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
