Jean Pierce Dixon

Jean Pierce Dixon, 67, of Raintree Lane, Morganton, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at her residence following a period of declining health. Born in Abingdon, VA on April 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Monroe Dixon and Sara Counts Dixon. Jean was a member of Morganton Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by a son, Michael M. Glass, of Morganton; daughters, Lynn Glass, of Morganton, Dana and her husband, Bryan Sain, of Valdese, Julie and her husband, Gregory Berry, and Jill Miller, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Michael Austin, Trey Glass, Brandy Poole, Carla Surratt, Ashley Poole; great grandchildren, Sara Flack, Cherish Sain; brother, Roger Pierce, of Texas; and her long time companion, Chuck Dutton of the home.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2005 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Sheridan and Elder Ted Brackett officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at Mrs. Dixon’s home, 105 Raintree Lane, Morganton.
