Jean Plante

Jean Plante, 77, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at Trinity Village. Born October 20, 1937 in Summit County, OH, she was the daughter of the late Charles Holmes and Mary Jane McClain Holmes. Jean was an assistant manager of Woodbridge Apartments in Morganton. She taught at Lenoir Christian Academy and worked at the Department of Labor in Atlanta. Jean was a member of House of Praise Fellowship in Morganton.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Francis Plante; son, James Plante of Morganton; daughter, Stacey Joanne Plante, of Charlotte, NC; step-children, Joseph F. Plante, David M. Plante and wife, Terry Dewey, Christopher Plante, Timothy Plante and wife, Kathy, Katherine P. Hunt and husband, Scott, all of Watertown, NY; grandchildren, Robbie Plante, Michelle Plante, and Austin Plante; great-grandchild, Adrien Williams; and a sister, Mary Jane Waugh of AZ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Holmes, Chuck Holmes, Bob Holmes and sister, Eileen Timms.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Pastors Terry Adams and Jimmy Church officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Western NC State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
