Jeanette Vella

Jeanette Vella, 75, of Williams Rd., Drexel, NC died unexpectedly, Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Grace Hospital in Morganton. She was born March 11, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, and was the daughter of the late George LeClaire and Jeanette McCreary LeClaire. Mrs. Vella was active in the Women of the Moose and achieved the College of Regents Degree, was Star Recorder, and a member of the Academy of Friendship. She was a loving wife and devoted mother who took great joy in having her family together.Jeanette is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Vella of the home; sons, Stephen Vella and wife, Judy, Wayne Vella and wife, Karen, Danny Vella and wife, Darlynn, Ronald Vella and wife, Mary, Russell Vella and wife, Sara, Joseph Vella, Paul Vella, and Kenneth Vella and wife, Dawn; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2008 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. A Rosary for Mrs. Vella will be said at the beginning of the visitation. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Danny Vella, 4609 Lakeview Acres Rd., Valdese.
