Jeannie Michelle Smith

Jeannie Michelle Smith, 40 of Valdese died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at her home. Born December 15, 1972 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of Murphy Ensley Smith of Morganton and the late Mary Lee Epley Smith. She worked for several years as a C.N.A. in area nursing homes.Surviving in addition to her father are her sons, Mitchell Ensley Hefner and Matthew Wynn Hefner both of Nebo, NC; a daughter, Katelyn Wilcox of the home; brothers, Terry E. "Buck" Smith and wife, Maria, Tracy L. Smith and companion, Patricia Harmon, and Tony A. Smith and wife, Laura all of Morganton; and a number of uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for thirty minutes before the service.
