Jeffery Russel Griffin

Jeffery Russel Griffin, 44, of Morganton died Friday, August 29, 2014. He was born in Caldwell County on September 4, 1969 and was a son of Mack Russel Griffin and Shelby Jean Wallace Griffin of Morganton. Jeffery was a kind hearted man and a loving, husband and father who loved the outdoors, his friends and family. He was a seeker of the Light and loved Christ and was saved in 2002 and was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church in Baton. Jeffery was also a wonderful son and brother who gave himself unconditionally—never meeting a stranger.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife Deborah Smith Griffin; he was the favorite cowboy to his daughters, Caroline and Brittany Vinesett; his sister, Susan Louisa Griffin Deal; his brother, David Griffin all of Morganton; his brothers in Christ, Jason Michael Cook and Clay Depew; and very special friend and mentor, David Benfield.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Dr. Clifton Black and Dr. Larry Cline officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the residence on Oak Tree Road.
