Jeffrey Scott Rogers, 51, of Morganton NC went home peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father on June 18th, 2020. Jeff was born to James & Patsy C. Rogers on April 6th, 1969.
Jeffrey graduated from Freedom High school in 1987 and then enlisted in the army. He was a member of honor guard and pallbearers of the 109th Quarter Master Company at Ft. Lee, Virginia., in which only the best soldiers were chosen. After he returned to Morganton, he began his career at Western Carolina Center in which he retired with 30 years of service. He was one who would never turn his back on you, loved whole heartedly, and would give you his last.
He had a love for Dallas cowboys, golfing, karaoke, cooking, but most of all his family and friends. He was genuine, his heart was kind and gentle and he was a loyal friend, a dedicated worker, and the most precious son and daddy.
He had a way of lighting up a whole room with his smile, making people feel his presence, and making people feel loved.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Megan Chapman, and husband, Issac; son, Jacob Rogers; grandson, Silas Chapman; sister, Jennifer Rogers Smith; niece, Cassidy Smith; nephew, Wesley Smith, II; great-nephew, Corbin Caldwell; grandparents, Jimmy and Virginia Rogers; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his great grandparents; Robert Lee Pearson & Gazelee Mull, Cora & John Clark, Lillian & James Branch, and Jimmy & Margaret Rogers; grandparents, Clarence & Margie Clark; uncle, Jerry Rogers; and first cousins, Nathan Wilson, John Rogers, and Gregg Rogers.
There will be a private graveside service with military honors provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
