Jerry Dean Harmon

Jerry Dean Harmon, 78, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on February 28, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles Evans Harmon and Nancy Elizabeth McSwain Harmon. Jerry was a member of Sonlight Baptist Church but enjoyed attending Mt. Home Baptist Church. He retired from Broughton Hospital after 34 years of service. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a friendly man who never met a stranger.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Rachel Cook Harmon; brothers, Jimmy Harmon (Luella) and Charles Stewart “Bud” Harmon (Patricia); sisters, Betty Harmon Curtis (Shawn) and Elizabeth Ann Harmon Hoyle (Robert); and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Services for Jerry will be held on January 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Sonlight Baptist Church in Morganton, NC with Pastor Michael Webb officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
