Jerry Dennis Whisenant

Jerry Dennis Whisenant, 50, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Burke Palliative Care Center. Born in Burke County, NC on August 15, 1961, he was the son of Cecil Camuel Whisenant and Sadie Mae Whisnant Whisenant. Jerry was raised in the Baptist Faith and attended Freedom High School. During his work career he was a maintenance worker with the City of Morganton Water Department, Grace Hospital, and Western Piedmont Community College.In addition to his parents, Jerry is survived by his brothers, Ronnie Whisenant and his wife, Debbie, of Asheville, NC and Andy Whisenant and his wife, Angie, of Hickory, NC; a sister, Sandra Brown and her husband, Eddie, of Morganton; and nieces, Stephanie, Laura, Morgan, Kaysi, and Kenzi Whisenant.The funeral will be held at noon, Monday, May 28, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Reverends John Pritchard and Thom Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
