Jerry Plemmons

Jerry Plemmons, 50, of Lovelady Rd. in Rutherford College, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. He was born Sept. 10, 1959 in Buncombe Co., and was a son of Shirley Plemmons, and the late Walter Plemmons. Jerry was a member of the First Church of God in Drexel. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching all sports, growing flowers, and spending time with his family. Jerry was a loving and faithful husband, father, and son.In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his wife, Kim Kincaid Plemmons; daughter, Deann Plemmons; son and daughter-in-law, Walt and Shannon Plemmons; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Tony Long; brother-in-law, Dean Kincaid; his wife’s parents, Charles and Loann Kincaid; niece and her husband, Rachel and Jason Freeman; nephew, Jason Long; great-nephew, Austin "Ty" Freeman; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2010 at First Church of God in Drexel with Pastor Jerry Reynolds and Rev. Larry McCaw officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the church.
