Jerry Pritchard

Jerry Pritchard, 58, of Nebo, NC died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Born in McDowell County, NC on November 13, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert Eugene Pritchard and Melissa Lydia Chapman Pritchard. Jerry attended Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church. He was employed at American Roller Bearing and had worked at Drexel Heritage Furnishings and was a self-employed carpenter. Jerry loved his family, the Linville River, and his faithful Chesapeake Bay retriever, Jane.Jerry is survived by his wife, Debra Lynn Hurd Pritchard of Valdese; a brother, Randy Pritchard and his wife, Pam, of Morganton; sisters, Regina Pritchard Silvers (Jerry’s twin) and her husband, Ronald, and Sharon Pritchard Falls and her husband, Ed, all of Morganton; a brother-in-law, Alva Lee Smith; a number of nephews and nieces; and a number of great-nephews and nieces.In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Pruitt Smith.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Roger Brackett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
