Jerry Ray Hefner

Jerry Ray Hefner, Sr., 62, of Rain Hill Church Road, Morganton, NC died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Grace Hospital. Born in Burke County, NC on August 2, 1946, he was the son of the late John Guthrie Hefner and Margaret Ann Mosley Hefner. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Joyce Hensley Hefner.Mr. Hefner is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Ray Hefner of Hickory, Jerry Allen Hefner of Hickory, and Jerry Ray Hefner, Jr. of Morganton; daughters, Margaret Celena Self of Morganton, Tammy Dennis of Drexel, NC, and Donna Renee Hefner of CA; a sister, Mabel Brown of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; and thirteen grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Ellington officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
