Jess Burleson, Jr.

Jess Burleson, Jr., 78, of Morganton, NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, October 6, 2015. He was born February 18, 1937 in Avery County, NC to the late Jess Burleson, Sr. and Sarah Burleson. He was a loving member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Howard Burleson; sisters, Mabel Hughes, Oran Burleson, Margie Buchanan and husband, Charles and Hazel Tipton and husband, Pete.
Survived by wife, Ruth Burleson; brother, Hayden Burleson and wife, Billie; sister, Jan McClellan and husband, Bobby; sister, "Cookie" Janet Buchanan and husband, Pat; sister-in-law, Helen Burleson and numerous nephews and nieces. Also survived by daughters, Libby Meadows and husband, Donny of Fort Mill, SC, Rhonda Browning and husband, Archie, and Peggy Allen and husband, Martin; grandchildren, Nick and Carly Meadows, Jennifer Smith and husband, Eric, Kimberly Taylor and husband, Mike, Myron Wise and wife, Mailee, and Ashley Duncan and husband, Jon; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Aaron Duncan, Savannah Taylor and Landry Wise.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Shawn Thomas, Dr. Dewey Thomas and Mr. David Burleson officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
