Jesse Willard Price

Jesse Willard Price, 89, of Morganton, NC is resting in peace with his Heavenly Father. He died Friday, June 24, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in McDowell County, NC on April 11, 1922, he was the son of the late Calvin Washington Price and Maggie Rampfeld Price. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a member of Drucilla Independent Baptist Church. He retired from Drexel Heritage with over 30 years of service. He also worked as a local security officer for over 20 years. Jesse loved his God and family, and he will be greatly missed.Jesse is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lena Hembree Price of the home; children, Donald Price and wife, Margie, Gary Dale Price and wife, Ida, Margo Price Duckworth and husband, Mike, Ronnie Price and wife, Cherly, and Wayne Price and wife, Debbie; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosie Price Spive of South Carolina.In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Price Roper; a granddaughter, Terry Lynn Price; brothers, Silvester, Carl, Calvin, and Tommy Price; and a sister, Maddie Prince Buckner.The funeral will be held at noon, Monday, June 27, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Terry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Drucilla Independent Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until noon prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 43, P.O.
