Jessie Cecil Crane

Jessie Cecil Crane, 80, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, October 19, 2013. Born in Rutherford County, NC on June 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Addie Frank Crane and Sallie Lee Conner Crane. Jessie was a longtime member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church where he taught the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class and was a member of the church choir. Jessie was a retired employee of Henredon Furniture Company. After his retirement he worked at the Burke County Recycling Center on US 64. He was a jack of all trades and was dearly loved by his family.Jessie is survived by his wife, Dorothy Clark Crane of the home; sons, Nicky D. Crane of Morganton and Jessie David Crane of Salisbury, NC; a daughter, Tammy Crane Mull and her husband, David, of Morganton; grandchildren, Trent Crane, Brittany Crane, Haley Proffitt and her husband, Nick, Brandy Lail, and Jody Crane; great-grandchildren, Dalton Lail, Jace Lail, Lainey Proffitt, Shelby Proffitt, Madison Crane, Christian Crane, Jayden Ross, and Titus Crane; brothers, Frank Crane of Morganton, Bill Crane and his wife, Brenda, of Morganton, and Floyd Crane of Fort Wayne, IN; and sisters, Ethel Hembree and Rose Stimson, both of Morganton.The funeral will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Tinnin and the Rev. Donald Lovelace officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends the in Life Enrichment Center at the church from 3:30 until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Missionary Ridge Baptist Church, 5612 John Watts Road, Morganton, NC 28655.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
