Jessie Gibbs Mull (Mrs. Forest L. Mull)

Jessie Gibbs Mull (Mrs. Forest L. Mull) died Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Durham, NC. Born January 5, 1915 in Glen Alpine, she married Forest L. Mull on August 30, 1935. He preceded her in death on July 13, 2001. She was a resident of Burke County for 86 years before moving to Croasdaile Village United Methodist Retirement Community in Durham in 2001.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jacqueline (Jack) Reichert and son-in-law, Allan Reichert of Hickory and siblings Lucy Beach, James Gibbs, Beatrice Duckworth, Jack Gibbs, Sunshine Gibbs, and Nell Shearin.She is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Jo) Honeycutt of Morresville; her daughter and son-in-law Kathie and Tom Heffner of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, Preston Honeycutt of Charlotte, Jeffrey Honeycutt of Charlotte; Gray Heffner Herndon and husband Christopher of Raleigh; and Hunt Heffner and wife Lorae and great-granddaughter Harper of Woodberry Forest, Virginia. She is also survived by her sister Laura Clark of Morganton and numerous nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall at 1 pm preceding the service. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Glen Alpine United Methodist Church General Building Fund.Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
