Jessie Grindstaff Wise

Jessie Grindstaff Wise, 93 of Morganton, NC went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 12, 2015. She was born April 5, 1922 in Avery County, NC and was the daughter of the late James Grindstaff and Fannie Hicks Grindstaff. Jessie was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church and had attended Smart's Grove Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved to cook.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Stokes Avery Wise; daughter, Rita Nichols; sons, Glen Wise and Frank Wise; brother, Teddy Grindstaff; and grandsons, Randy and Joseph Wise.
Jessie is survived by daughter, Vivian Mace and husband, Rev, Billy Mace of Morganton; brother, LD Grindstaff and wife, Patsy of Elk Park, NC; sister, Wanda Crossnoe and husband, Jimmy of Michigan; grandchildren, Danny and Marty Wise, Sherry Dula, Keith Mace, Robin Deitz, Shane and Rocky Nichols; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Terrell Nichols; and sister-in-law, Linda Wise.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Smart's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
