Jimmy Davis Holland, 87, of Morganton, NC, arrived in Heaven on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Born in Burke County, NC on June 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Grover Holland and Minnie Smith Holland.

A cherished member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for 65 years, Jimmy's life was a testament to faith, community, and love. He was a devoted husband, a beloved brother, and a treasured friend to many.

A passionate fan of NASCAR and NFL football, Jimmy found joy in the thrill of the races and the excitement of the games. But perhaps nothing brought him more happiness than being outdoors, tending to his garden, and nurturing the beauty of his yard. Jimmy's legacy lives on through the countless friendships he cultivated over the years. As we celebrate Jimmy's life, we remember the laughter, the stories, and the many moments of joy he shared with us. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jacquelyn Prewitt Holland; brother, Grover Holland, Jr. (Lois); and nieces, Susan Harrison Norman (Warren) and Tracy.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Holland; sister, Ruby Harrison; and nephew, Randy Holland.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in the church cemetery with Dr. Jack Hodges and Dr. Larry Cline officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2396 Enola Road, Morganton, NC 28655.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
