Jimmy Dennis Mace

Jimmy Dennis Mace, 59, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at his residence. Born in McDowell County, NC on December 9, 1951, he was the son of the late George Leroy Mace and Verlie Frisbee Mace. Jimmy was a member of River Valley Baptist Church and an employee of Sypris. Although he was an avid motorcyclist and a computer guru, Jimmy?s main hobby was his children.He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Woody Mace of the home; son, Jonathan Mace of Morganton; daughters, Melissa Johnson and Carrie Mace and fiancée, Jonathan Buchanan, all of Morganton; brothers, Earl Mace of South Carolina, Gary Mace of Charlotte, NC, and Randy Mace of Granite Falls; and a sister, Linda Duncan of Bakersville, NC.In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Herman and Nevada Woody; and a nephew, Daniel Mace.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Douglas Woody officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
