Jimmy Lane

Jimmy Lane, 61, of Morganton, NC died Monday, February 13, 2012 at Grace Hospital. Born July 5, 1950 in Burke County, he was a son of the late Wesley Lane and Maggie Pearson Lane. Jimmy was a member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church, and a former employee of Drexel-Heritage Furnishings Company.He is survived by brothers, Tillman Lane, and Billy Lane and wife, Brenda, and a sister, Joann Lane Frank and husband, Thomas Frank, Jr., all of Morganton; a number of nieces and nephews; and other extended family.In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by siblings, Gene Lane, Ray Lane, and twins, Wesley and Maggie Lane.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church with the Reverends Al Tinnin and Donald Lovelace officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour before the funeral in the church sanctuary. At other times, the family will be at Billy Lane’s home. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
