Jimmy Lee Winters

Jimmy Lee Winters, 86, of Morganton died Sunday, January 3, 2021.  Born in Yancey County, NC on June 11, 1934, he was the son of the late Ted W. Winters and Nina Lee Fox Winters.  Jimmy was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and retired from Great Lakes Carbon.

Mr. Winters is survived by his wife, Betty Winters of the home; daughters, Debbie Duckworth, Barbara Williams (Bobby), Pam Kennedy (Mike), and Kathy Smith (Steve); sons, Robert Winters (Shirley) and Dennis Winters (Donna); 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Bill Winters (Betty).

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Winters, Jr.; and brothers, Bobby and Tommy Winters.

The funeral will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.  Military honors will be provided by tne US Navy and the Caldwell County Veterans Honors Guard.
