Jimmy Ray Beasley, 79, of Morganton passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Autumn Care of Drexel after years of declining health and complications from COVID-19. Born in Burke County, NC on April 27, 1941, he was the only son of the late James Edward Beasley and Patricia Gladys Maye Beasley. Jimmy was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member and usher at First Baptist Church. He was a kind, gentle man who loved being outdoors working in his garden. He especially enjoyed fishing and being on the water.
Mr. Beasley worked in the furniture industry for many years and as a Correctional Officer at Foothills Correctional Institute. He later served as a security officer for Griffin Security.
A devoted husband of 55 years, father, and grandfather, Jimmy is survived by his wife, Lottie Strickland Beasley of the home; daughters, Tricia Beasley Plaster (fiancé, Willie Lindsay) and Rae Beasley Bush (Ken) of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Mattie Plaster, Samuel Plaster, Reid Bush, and Katherine Bush; uncle, Robert Maye; and numerous cousins and extended family.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services for Mr. Beasley will be private.
