Joann Causby Mills

Joann Causby Mills, 84, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

Born in Burke County, NC on January 18, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Robert Dazelle Causby and Zula Betty Gates Causby.  Joann attended Drexel Memorial Baptist Church.  She worked for many years as a seamstress at Lazarus in Morganton.  Mrs. Mills enjoyed working in the yard, raising flowers, taking trips in the mountains, and especially spending time with her family.

A devoted wife and mother, Joann is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bobby Mills; son, Bobby Dean Mills (Gwen); sister, Linda Wilson (Wesley); sisters-in-law, Judy and Hazel Causby; brother-in-law, Buddy Mills (Judy); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby Joe Mills; and brothers, David, Bill, Jimmy, Ted, and Kenneth Causby.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2022 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery on Dysartsville Road.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
