Joe A. Taylor

Joe A. Taylor, 71, of Morganton, NC passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born on January 18, 1950 to the late Oliver V. and Emma M. (Arnold) Taylor. He was a Gideon and an avid fisherman. He worked at Caterpillar for 41 years. He loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Delores A. Taylor Tyson; brother, J. Donnell Taylor; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Taylor; brothers-in-law, Mervin Grove, Franklin King, and Willis Tyson; father-in-law, Frank Ludwig, Jr.

Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue Ann Ludwig Taylor; children, Sandra Taylor Moss and husband, David and  Jennifer Taylor; granddaughter, Kirsten Barton; siblings, Elmo Taylor of Brogue, PA, Nancy Grove of Red Lion, PA, Sam Taylor and wife, Kay of Brogue, PA and Geraldine King of Red Lion, PA; brothers-in-law, Frank E. Ludwig III and wife, Sandy of Wisconsin, James Ludwig of Florida, Tobin Ludwig and wife, Theresa of Red Lion, PA; mother-in-law, Yola Ludwig of York, PA; sister-in-law, Margaret Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be at 10:00am, Friday, August 27, 2021 at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Eddy Bunton officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
