Joe Allen Benfield

Joe Allen Benfield, 23, of Morganton, NC died unexpectedly Sunday, February 6, 2011. Born February 7, 1987 in Burke County, he was the son of James "Lard" Benfield of Glen Alpine, and the late Janice Lorine Pearson Benfield. Joe was an avid book reader.In addition to his father, he is survived by a sister, Kimberly Benfield Harralson and husband, Larry, of Hudson, NC; grandfather, Walter Benfield of Morganton; and nephews, Devan and Jaden Harralson.In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Mary Louise Mayfield, and Clyde and Etta Faye Pearson.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Presnell officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
