Joe E. Yeager

Joe E. Yeager, 79, of Lenoir Rd., Morganton, NC died Friday, May 12, 2006, at Grace Ridge following a period of declining health. He was born in Sullivan County, IN on December 20, 1926 and was a son of the late Max Burke and Lucille Yeager Woodsmall. Mr. Yeager was a graduate of Toledo University and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was an active volunteer in the community including member of the Lions Club, S.H.I.P., Literacy Council, past president of the Residence Association of Grace Ridge, past president of the Port Clinton Chapter of the American Field Service, member and past president of A.A.R.P., and was a member of Catawba Valley Mason Lodge #217.

Surviving are his wife, Eilene Yeager, of the home; a son and his wife, Rick J. and Debbra Yeager, of Cambridge, OH; a daughter and her husband, Cynthia "Cindy" and Thomas Antonides, of Allendale, MI; grandchildren, Carissa Jo Snarski and her husband, Chad, Matthew Earl Yeager and his wife, Angela, Jessica Ellene Weiker, Jason Weiker, and Jaime Weiker; sisters, Donna Moody and Sharon McCracken; and brothers, William Burke and Robert Burke.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, in the Community Room of Grace Ridge with Rev. Carl Lindquist officiating and Rev. Sheldon Stephenson and Rev. Don Robb assisting. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service.
