Joe G. Buchanan, Sr.

Joe G. Buchanan, Sr., 83, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, June 20, 2022.  He was born May 20, 1939 in Avery County to the late William Jefferson Buchanan and Ethel Buchanan. Joe was a member of Mtn. View #1 Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and going to church. He also loved his family and dogs as well as wood working. Joe served in the U.S. Army.

Joe is survived by his sons, Joe Buchanan, Jr (Lori) and Jeff Buchanan; grandchildren, Samantha Buchanan and Nicholas Buchanan.

In addition to his parents Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Buchanan.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022 at Mtn. View #1 Baptist Church. Military honors will be provided by The National Guard.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
