Joe Walter Wiseman, 63, passed away on April 16, 2023, in Morganton, NC after a life filled with joy and love.

He was born on March 19, 1960, in Dearborn, Michigan to Jacqulyn (née Palise) and Joe Henry Wiseman.

Joe was a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was renowned for his selflessness and devotion to his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he cherished dearly. He had a great sense of humor and could make anyone smile with his infectious laugh. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, golfing, and hunting, and was a source of inspiration to all who knew him, always finding ways to make the best out of any situation. Joe dedicated over 30 years of his life to working at Wilbur Plumbing, where he began as a “ditch digger” and rose through the ranks to become Field Superintendent. His unwavering commitment to his craft was evident to all who knew him, as he became renowned for his strong work ethic and unparalleled craftsmanship. Joe’s pride in his career was a driving force throughout his life, and his legacy (and reputation) will be remembered for years to come. Joe leaves behind his beloved wife Denise (née Guy), his children Nicole (Jake) Morse, and Alyssa Wiseman (Michael Clontz), and his cherished grandchildren, Leo, Lexi, and Liv Morse. He is also survived by his mother Jacqulyn Wiseman, and his brothers Jack (Janice), Mark Troy (Janice), and Todd (Pamela) Wiseman, all of whom were dear to his heart. Joe was proceeded in death by his father Joe Henry Wiseman. His kindness, humor, and dedication will always be remembered, and his memory will live on through his family and friends. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at a later date, details to come.

I just met Joe three years ago on a jobsite we did together in East Lansing. His professionalism on the jobsite was apparent and appreciated everyday. I made a career change after 30 years as a superintendent and moved to North Carolina to start the next chapter of my life. His guidance and words of wisdom (as well as a love for NC) and support were instrumental in my decision. In a world full of men with limited integrity. He was shining beacon for anyone that had the pleasure to know him. Rest in peace my friend. Brad Thomas

With deepest sympathy we send prayers for all those who loved Joe. We were neighbors for some time in Michigan. I always enjoyed running into him at the store or on our road. I can say I never seen him without a smile on his face. Always a "hello" even if he caught me by surprise. To the family and friends, may you find peace in the days and weeks to come.

My condolences to Denise and the girls you are in my prayers, words can not express the sadness in my heart. I will always remember our golf outings always trying to beat Richard and Pops which we never did, but we sure did have a blast trying. you were a good golf buddy for year's my friend and when the UFC first came out I could count on you to come over and enjoy the fights with me and just laugh and have a good time and whenever we were around each other. I will miss you and your laugh until we meet again don't you and Richard and Pop's get to good on those courses until I get there, and I bet we beat them this time. Jesus give comfort and peace to Denise and the girls and to all family and friends that knew Joe
