Joel Randolph “Randy” Rector, 69, of Morganton, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born on June 19, 1952 in Burke County to Greta Lail Garrison and the late Joseph Richard Rector. He was raised in the Baptist faith. Randy had worked at Waldensian Bakery and at NACCO. He loved his family and grandkids and was a loving father, brother, and grandfather.
He is survived by his children, Rassie Rector (Kiesha), Joseph Rector (Veronica) and Jessica Riggs (Jonathan), Gage Charlet; step-mother, Nita Rector; grandchildren, Tyler, Kaleb, and Kyla Rector, Savannah and Morgan Rector, and Hayden, Trever (Alexis), and Noah Rector; great-grandchild, Benjamin; sister, Teresa Parker and Cheryl Miller (David); friend, Megan Melott.
A graveside service will be at 4 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
